In celebration of the 180th year in fashion, French malletier (trunkmaker) Goyard is releasing a special limited edition clutch called the Saint Honore Bag, named after the first Paris flagship store located at Saint Honore.
Brief fyi history about Goyard: La Maison Goyard was founded in 1853 in Paris. Edme Goyard worked as a malletier for a company then known as Maison Morel (founded in 1792), which his son, Francois, bought out in 1853. At that time, the company was renamed to what we know today as Goyard. At this time the Paris flagship store was located at Saint Honore (hence the name of the special edition designer bag). A couple years later the chevron canvas was created in 1892, and was traditionally produced in black and red.
The special edition Goyard clutch carries a steep retail price of $4100.
Goyard is sold in fewer than fifteen locations worldwide, including three proprietary boutiques in Paris, San Francisco’s Union Square and The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. Other locations include Bergdorf Goodman, select Barneys New York locations and Harvey Nichols Hong Kong. Visit Goyard for the full list.

For the upcoming seasons, designers are adding hints of hot blue hues to their handbag collections. And vibrant blue is a must-have color to be sporting in warmer weather that’s just around the corner. The Bianca Patent Satchel by Botkier in lustrous blue would be a wonderful addition as it’s perfectly fit for Spring and Summer. I love the patent leather because it adds not only style to the bag, but also shine to the gorgeous shade of blue. Also, what’s so fantastic about the leather is the quality since it is Italian lambskin. I’m not a fan of stiff patent leathers I’ve seen bags constructed of, though this blue hottie, however, is smooshy and crinkled.
The gold-toned hardware is a perfect match to this color, adding just enough sparkle to this piece and is a great alternative to silver. As for the structure of the bag, I really like the two pockets in the front and also the adorable extended tab with a golden twist closure. And not only can you carry it on your arm or in your hand but you can also fit it over your shoulder, which is a huge plus for me. But overall, I think both the style and quality are great and definitely live up to the price tag of $595.
